The Quality Control Technician (QCT) plays a crucial role in scrutinizing and improving our operational processes and supply chain performance. Their primary mission is to bridge the gap between our production and supply chain operations and the set standards and specifications. This encompasses evaluating deliveries from our production facility, as well as those from our suppliers, partners, and subcontractors involved in outsourced tasks. The overarching objective is to ensure alignment with our internal OEM specifications, meet customer requirements, and adhere to industry standards in hydrogen technology and related fields. To achieve this, the QCT must leverage their skills in utilizing various quality measurement tools and inspection techniques and inspire employees to adopt a continuous improvement mindset.
The QCT reports directly to the Quality Manager and collaborates with multiple departments, ranging from Purchasing to Research and Development. Daily tasks may include conducting incoming inspections, product assessments, analyzing deviations, conducting internal audits, and engaging in ongoing improvement initiatives. The QCT's motivation stems from assisting teams by utilizing precise process data, leveraging technical expertise to generate new insights, and ensuring the effectiveness of improvement efforts (Plan-Do-Check-Act).
The QCT's responsibilities encompass the following:
- Overseeing the incoming inspection area and the associated inspection methods (AQL).
- Managing supplier complaints using the 8D process.
- Ensuring the effectiveness of improvement actions initiated by suppliers.
- Supervising the measurement room and relevant testing methods (CMM).
- Participating as a member of the audit team in conducting internal (process) audits.
- Conducting and documenting quality inspections of final products.
- Coordinating and initiating repair activities for rejected products and validating the repaired items.
- Performing various product tests as per the inspection plan.
- Initiating viable product or process improvement initiatives.
- Evaluating and maintaining quality records to support the quality system and ensure product compliance.
your profile
- Completion of MBO 4 education in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics.
- Possess 5 years or more of relevant experience in Quality or Supplier Quality roles within the high-tech industry, automotive sector, or similar fields.
- Proficiency in the use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and optical instruments.
- Fundamental knowledge of statistics, including concepts like histograms, Pareto analysis, process capability, and standard deviation.
- Capability to implement and train others in the use of AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) sample size inspection methodology.
- Proficiency in applying problem-solving methods such as 8D, Ishikawa diagrams, and the 5 Whys technique.
- Familiarity with the requirements of the ISO 9001-2015 quality management system.
- Experience working with various commodities, including cables and connectors, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), metal sheet components, or plastics.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
Skills and abilities:
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a keen eye for precision.
- Proficiency in identifying and assessing process-related risks and opportunities.
- Ability to generate comprehensive and dependable quality reports.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to express opinions clearly and effectively. Proficient in verbal and written communication in Dutch and English, and preferably, also in German.
- Adequate experience with various Microsoft applications.
